Mr. Norman Borcherding

Norman Borcherding, 80, Spring Hill, Kan., passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at his daughter's home. A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 8311 W. 93rd St., Overland Park, KS 66212. Memorial contributions are suggested to Good Shepherd Hospice, 7611 State Line Rd., Kansas City, MO 64114. Norman was born Feb. 7, 1929, in St. Louis, Mo. He graduated from Cleveland High School in St. Louis, where he was Captain of the swim team. He was a Sergeant in the Army, where he worked on helicopters. He was ranked 3rd degree and was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus. Norman retired as General Manager from Wall-Ties. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Orville and Robert; infant son, Robert; and daughter-in-law, Shawn Borcherding. Survivors include his children, Pamela (Clarke) Veach of Dallas, Texas; Barbie (Frank) Anderson of Spring Hill, Kan.; and David Borcherding of Bangor, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
