Patricia Ann (Waugh) Billingsley was born September 6 th , 1925 in Council Grove, Kansas. Her family moved to a ranch near Eskridge, Kansas when she was seven. She attended a one room school house near Eskridge where she rode a horse to school. Later they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado and then Hollywood, California where she attended and graduated from Hollywood Heights High School. It was while living in Hollywood that she met and married Audell “Bill” Billingsley in 1943. It was during WWII and he was serving in the military. He proposed to her on their first date and they were married three months later. They were married for 72 years before he went to be with our Lord. There love was truly an inspiration for all.
After WWII they moved back to Colorado where he attended college, and they worked in her parents restaurant. He was called back to active duty during the Korean War and they moved to England with two children in tow. When the war was over they moved to Kansas City, so that Bill could attend dental school. She gave birth to their third child in Kansas City. After Dental School that moved to Durango, Colorado to begin their dental practice. Patty became the office manager and they both worked to make their practice a success. They later moved back to Kansas City and started a new practice. She was instrumental in the success of the practice by making sure everything ran smoothly. They spent over 50 years working together and caring for their patients.
Patty was an incredibly loving mother to her three children. She leaves behind a family legacy in her son Dr. Michael Billingsley and daughter-in-law Diane Billingsley of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Patrick Billingsley and daughter-in-law Kathleen Billingsley of Sacramento, California and Dr. Ann Billingsley von Behrens and son-in-law Dr. Brent von Behrens of Olathe, KS, as well as 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence “Nannie” Waugh and Ivan “Bobbie” Waugh, her sweetheart Audell “Bill” Billingsley and grandson Scott Billingsley.
