It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Drake Johnson (known as "Mimi" to her family) with peace and grace on March 26, 2014 in Springfield, Missouri.
Patricia was born in Aurora, Missouri, and raised in Overland Park, Kansas, where she attended school, graduating from Shawnee Mission North.
She married George Johnson, who preceded her in death in 1996.
She lived in Ottawa, Kansas, El Paso, Texas, Columbia, Missouri, and Tacoma, Washington before moving to Springfield in 1998.
She had a long career in retail sales to include Swanson's and Hall's on the Country Club Plaza, Tony Lama Boots, Beto Junction in Lebo, Kansas, and TJ Max finally retiring in 1997.
She is survived by her beloved family to include her daughter, Melanie Schattauer and husband Fred of Olathe, Kansas; granddaughter, Alison Lock and her husband Jeremy; two great grandsons, Joseph and James Lock of Overland Park, Kansas; sister Pamela Roe of Lawrence, Kansas and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her two sons, Scott and Greg.
Her final years were spent with many friends and acquaintances at Mercy Villa in Springfield, Missouri for which the family will always be grateful for their loving and skillful care.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
