Patricia C. Redmon, 83, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014, at her home in Ottawa, KS.
Patricia was born March 9, 1931, in Gordon, NE, to Don and Margaret Neely. She grew up in Sioux City, IA and then moved to Kansas City, KS where she married Wain Ralph Black, Jr., and raised their three children.
Patricia worked for the KCK Board of Education and then went to work for the KCK Police Department as one of the first female police dispatchers. Later in life, she met John Eugene “Gene” Redmon and fell in love again. The most important thing in Patricia’s life was her family!!!
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gene Redmon; daughter, Terrill Colleen (Black) Yadrich; and her parents.
Patricia is survived by her sons, Steven A. Black and Michael W. (Barbara) Black; grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Black and Justin Michael Black; sister, Donna Carlene McCann; and brother, Michael C. Neely.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014, at the Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2014, at the Johnson County Chapel.
