Patrick Earl Nugent, age 86, of Overland Park, passed away on October 26, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Camelot Ballroom, 6635 West 151st St., Overland Park, KS 66223. Pat was born June 6, 1928, in Kansas City, MO to Edward and Josephine Nugent. He attended Wyandotte High School, excelling in basketball, track and field and later attended Baker University on a basketball scholarship. Pat went on to serve in the US Army Occupation Forces after World War II. In 1984 he retired from Phillips Petroleum Company after 33 years of service. Pat was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area. His passions were sports, travel and ballroom dancing. Pat was a kind and gentle man who never met a stranger.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Edward and Robert Nugent and wife Virginia Nugent. He is survived by his son Scott (Joan) Nugent, grandchildren Jill and John Nugent, sister Joan (Bob) East, brother Jerry (Barbara) Nugent and many nieces and nephews.
