Paul “Pee Wee” Cook, 93, of Westwood, Kansas, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 19.  Funeral services will be at noon on Monday, July 24, Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association.

Paul was born September 4, 1929, in Ava, Missouri, the fifth of 12 children born of John Thomas Cook and Minnie Belle (Strong) Cook.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Virginia Arlene (Pugh) Cook in 2005, as well as six of his brothers Thomas, Harley, Hurley, Boyd, Doyn, and Don, and his four sisters Lillie Belle, Wanda Fae, Audrey Fern, and Betty Maye.

Pee Wee was a proud teamster for over 30 years at Pacific Intermountain Express (PIE).  There was no broken bike, motor, or piece of machinery that he could not fix.  He regularly ran marathons into his seventies, often placing first in his age group.  He has now finished his last race and crossed the finish line weakened, but not broken.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
