Paul Victor Fisher, 84, Leawood, Kan., passed away on September 11, 2007, at Kansas City Hospice House.

Paul was born July 17, 1923, in Wellsburg, Iowa. He graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1942. In 1943, he married the love of his life, Ruth J. Bear. After several years of farming and running Fisher Hardware in Boone, Iowa they moved to Wichita, Kan., in 1956. He began a long and respected career with Kansas Cold Storage. After mergers and acquisitions with United Refrigerated Warehouse, he attained the position of COO of the national chain. In Wichita, he was a member and elder of Grace Presbyterian Church and an involved member of the Wichita Scottish-Rite as well as a member of Wichita Country Club. Upon retirement with United Refrigerated Warehouse, Paul and Ruth moved to Kansas City, where he began a new career in insurance sales with Financial Associates. In Kansas City he established himself as the head usher at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church, continued his passion for golf at Brookridge Country Club, was a member of the Abdullah Shine, and was always heard cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Elizabeth Fisher, his loving wife Ruth, his daughter Julie Boulware, sister Maxine Lingren, and brother Fredric Fisher. He is survived by his son Norman Fisher and his wife Cherry; and his daughter Jean Briley and her husband Jeff; his grandchildren Chris and Clay Fisher, Richie and Stephanie Wagner, Kristen Boulware, Brooke, Jason, and Lauren Briley; and his great grandchildren Dillon and Rider Wagner.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, September 14, at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church - 9300 Nall. A reception will follow the service in the Fireside Room. Please join us at 4 p.m. for a celebration of Paul's life, at Brookridge Country Club - 103rd and Antioch. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Kansas City Hospice House House, 12000 Wornall or Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church.
