Paula Lane, 92, went home to be with the Lord on February 20, 2025. Paula was born on October 15, 1932, in St Louis, but moved to Butler Mo at a young age where she spent the rest of her youth. She graduated from Butler High School where she participated in the Marching Band and competitive roller skating. After graduation, she went to William Jewell College but due to circumstances, she went to work at AT&T. She met her husband, Gordon D. Lane while working there. They were united in marriage on November 23, 1963. After marriage, she went on to earn her associate degree at Penn Valley Community College where she later worked. She was a member of Country Club Christian church and participated in bible study and the many activities of the church. She also assisted in the office and never considered it work, but a lot of fun. Paula and Gordon spent many years entertaining at the Lake of the Ozarks and traveling to Hawaii and Naples, Florida. After Gordon’s passing, she traveled with friends to various places in Europe. She enjoyed Starlight Theatre and the Kansas City Chiefs. Paula lived with every ounce of her being and celebrating holidays was her special talent by making it fun for all.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon D. Lane, her parents, and one brother, Stephen Schneider. Paula is survived by children Glenn (Ruby) Lane, Gayle (Mark) Linderman, Gwen (Mike) Schelski and Gary (Suzanne) Lane, two sisters, Joel (Clifford) Christian, Stephanie (Tom) Schmitgall and one brother, Chris (Nancy) Schneider and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and so many friends.
The family will see family and friends at Johnson County Memorial Gardens (112th and Metcalf) from 4-6 PM on Thursday, March 6, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 11:00 am at the George Hamilton Combs Chapel of Country Club Christian Church, 6101 Ward Parkway, Kansas City Missouri with interment to follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. For those who wish to attend but cannot, the funeral service will be live-streamed from Country Club Christian Church’s website at:
