83, Overland Park, KS passed away on July 14, 2018 at her home. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be 2:00pm Saturday July 21st at Asbury United Methodist Church, 5400 W. 75th Street, Prairie Village, Kansas. A reception will follow at the church.
Paula was born on a warm November afternoon at Wesley Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Reverend Paul Rea Head and Mary Ellen Ruth Jones Head. She lived in a small house on her grandmother’s farm until she was 6. She then attended six elementary schools and 3 high schools before she graduated. She then wen on to O.C.U. and graduated in 1956 with a degree in Education. Paula taught in Oklahoma City for 5 years. While in college Paula went to the First United Methodist Church where she met her future husband, Joe. They were married in December 1957. They moved to Gravois Mills, Missouri where she taught for 6 years. It was where Joe Paul and J.R. were born. They moved to Overland Park in 1967. It was then their family joined Asbury United Methodist church and where they remained until their deaths. Paula taught in the Turner School District for 27 years. After she retired she went to work for DeCloud Studios and worked for another 10 years. One life lesson she learned from moving so many times was to be content where ever you are.
Paula was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Rea Trasher and a son, Joe Paul. She is survived by a son, John Rea Trasher; grandchildren: Jonathon Trasher, Mark Trasher, Thomas Trasher and Rihana Clarke. Memorial contributions in memory of Paula may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church.
