Penny Brown Blake, 50, died on November 23.
She is survived by husband, Dewayne Blake, a daughter, Ginger, a son, Austin, and two step children, Nathan and Natalie, her parents, William and Mary Jean Shoop, a brother, Gary Shoop and his wife, Pam, two nieces and one nephew.
Penny?s growing up years where spent in St. Joseph, MO, where she graduated from Central High School. She attended Texas Christian University, Ft. Worth, and graduated with a degree in modern dance. For many years she taught in the Physical Education Department at Johnson County Community College. She fought a heroic battle against cancer and MS and was an inspiration to those who knew her.
Penny was an active member of Country Club Christian Church, 61st and Ward Parkway, where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 1, with Visitation at 2:00 p.m. and a memorial service at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, suggested memorial gifts: Country Club Christian Church (Music Department); cancer or MS research; or a charity of your choice.
