Philip Allen Petzold

Philip Allen Petzold, 75, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Phil was born December 9, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School in 1965 and Kansas State University with a Business Degree in 1970. He was a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He put his business degree to beneficial use and worked as a salesman of doors and windows.

In his spare time Phil loved playing tennis with his many friends at Round Hill Country Club and was highly active in the club. He can now be revealed to be the culprit that lighted thousands of firecrackers every 4^th of July at the annual Round Hill celebration. He had a monthly poker night and is being dealt in the game with his friends that preceded him in heaven.

Together with his wife of 52 years Kristin, he enjoyed a love of traveling. In his retirement some of the numerous places he visited were Paris, Greece, Italy, Amsterdam, Spain, Portugal, Canada, all fifty states and many visits to the Caribbean. He also volunteered countless hours at the Overland Park Arboretum operating the trains for the enjoyment of the children that visited daily.

Philip was preceded in death by his father Joe, mother Doris, and brother Fred. He is survived by his wife Kristin, sons Scott (Erika), Ryan, Erik (Amber) and grandchildren William, Samantha, Wyatt, Olivia, and Abigail.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be 12:00 PM Friday March 3rd, at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66210.
