Phillip S. Ulrich, 90, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2016. He was born Feb. 28, 1926 in Akron, Ohio, the son of Dr. Joseph M. and Violette (Shaeffer) Ulrich. Phillip served our country in the United States Navy for two years during WWII. He married Dorothy D. McAdory on October 17, 1958 in Bernalillo, NM. He enjoyed a successful career with Pontiac Motor Division/General Motors for over 35 years, retiring in 1991.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers; Joseph, Richard and James. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dottie, Overland Park, KS, his children; Phillip J. Ulrich (Christy), Overland Park, René McNair (Les), Cincinnati, OH, Cheryl Katz, Wilmington, DE and 6 grandchildren. Memorial services will be 10:30 am, Monday, June 6 at Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. Memorial contributions are suggested to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care or University of Kansas Cancer Center. The family would like to thank the staff of Kansas City Hospice for their kind and caring services during Phillip’s brief illness.
