Phyllis L. Dieckman, 75, of Shawnee, Kan., finished her earthly life course December 12, 2007, at the Kansas City Hospice House.
Phyllis was born April 26, 1932, in Windsor, Mo. For over 60 years, Phyllis has been an active member as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Through her love for the Bible and desire to gain a more accurate knowledge of Jehovah God and his son Jesus Christ. She spent many years in the full time ministries. Her greatest pleasure came from sharing what she had learned with others through Bible study as the Bible instructs all Christians to do. Phyllis also enjoyed dancing, singing, good movies, football, and later in life annual trips to Branson, Mo. Phyllis cherished her lifelong friendships. With many who loved her for her wonderful sense of humor and always infectious genuine smile. Most precious to Phyllis was her family.
She was preceded in death by her son; Danny. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 25 years, Paul Dieckman; children, Mike (Cindy) Minter, Carey (Donnie) Lane; six grandchildren, including Melissa, whom Paul and Phyllis raised; Paul's three children; Paul's four grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and four sisters, Janet, Sue, Beverly, and Faye.
On behalf of Phyllis, the family would like to thank her friends and staff for their loving care at Shawnee Heartland Assisted Living and Kansas City Hospice House.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, December 15, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. Private burial in Antioch Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, at the Shawnee Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 14285 Midland Dr., Shawnee, Kan.
