Ralph E. Johnson, age 91, passed away quietly on Monday, May 24, 2010. Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, May 27, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Ralph was born on April 12, 1919. He graduated from Paseo High School and later joined the Navy and served in WWII on a PT Boat. After the military, Ralph went to work for Armour Beef Packing Plant and then the US Department of Agriculture retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Village Presbyterian Church for 56 years. Ralph's partner for life ever after was Evelyn Louis Applequist whom he married in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church. They have been married for 62 years. In retirement, Ralph enjoyed golf and the Kansas City Chiefs. He was also a member of the Bow Tie Club where they made their closest friends throughout the years. Ralph also enjoyed the marriage of his son and his daughter and the birth of his two grandchildren. He always had a positive outlook on life. Ralph loved his home, family, and church, and was grateful for God's Blessing of good health throughout the years. Ralph was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl and Walter. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; his son, Ken and Nancy Johnson, of Lexington, KY; his daughter, Joy and Roger Collins, of Prairie Village, KS; and his beloved grandchildren, Kirsten and Colin.
