Randall E. Blank passed away on Friday, October 5, 2007, at St. Luke's South Hospital.
Mr. Blank was born on September 12, 1918 to Louis Lorenz Blank and Ola Agnes Deuel Blank in Prairie Home, MO. He was one of six children, five sons and a daughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Louis Hilton Blank and Donald E. Blank. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy, of the home; brother Kenneth E. Blank and wife Doris, Independence, MO; brother Cecil W. Blank of San Francisco, CA; sister Patricia Heckenbach of Excelsior Springs, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Warrensburg High School in 1935. He was a long time employee of Safeway Stores starting in 1937 in Warrensburg, MO and continuing until his retirement in 1983 as a Meat Merchandising Manager at the division offices in Kansas City, MO. He joined the Navy in 1943 and served three years on the hospital ship USS Comfort in the Pacific. He was a member of the Leawood United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing and enjoyed meeting and visiting with friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 11 at 10:00 a.m. at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS and funeral services will be held Thursday, October 11 at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
