Raymond Miller

Raymond "Ray" Miller, 85, went home to the Lord peacefully on Thursday June 12, 2008.
Ray lived most of his life in the Shawnee and Bonner Springs area. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia A. Miller of Shawnee, Kan. He is also survived by his five children, Sharon Terry, Sanford, NC, Rozanne Brozek, Newton, Kan., Douglas Miller, Linwood, Kan., Robin Smith and Danny Miller of Shawnee; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Ray founded Ray Miller Trucking in the 1960s and co- owned All Freight Systems before retiring in the 1980s. All who knew "Ray" knew of his love of gambling, cutting and selling his firewood which he enjoyed doing up to almost the end.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 16, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf. Visitation will begin an hour prior at the chapel. Graveside services for family members and friends will take place following the service Monday at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens 23215 W. 75th Street Shawnee, KS 66227.
