Raymond (Ray) Arthur Miller, age 85, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on January 13, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. Ray was born July 13, 1930 in Keokuk, IA. He entered the Army at age 18 and served in Okinawa during the Korean conflict. He was a loving Christian man who was married to his college sweetheart, Patricia, for 58 years. Together they reared three daughters and were excellent role models for their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a kind, loving man whose church was an integral part of his life where he served as an elder and Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He had a passion for education and was a retired elementary school teacher who spent the majority of his career at John Diemer Elementary School. Ray was a gentle, Godly man who will be sorely missed by friends and family, but they are comforted knowing that he is with his Lord and Savior in Heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mylo and Emily Miller, his brothers, Larry and Harold Miller, his wife, Patricia Miller, and his daughter, Kathryn Miller.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Mary Cavenee and Lois Cain; 1 sister, Norma Miller; 2 brothers, Ralph and Kenny Miller; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
