Rebecca Ann Larson Bohon (Becky), age 86, of Overland Park, died May 24, 2014 at St. Luke's South Hospital.
She was the daughter of Agur and Amy Larson and was born in Horton, Brown County, KS. She lived near Robinson, KS until moving to Kansas City in 1950. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Kansas in 1950. Becky was active in the Eastern Missouri Chapter of Physical Therapy and was the first president when the state incorporated in 1953. She was employed at the Dickson-Diveley Clinic, Rehabilitation Institute, Holmesdale Convalescent Center and the Visiting Nurse Association. She was a Charter Member of the Elizabeth M. Watkins Society at the University of Kansas and a member of The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Herbert, in 2000, and her son Brian in 2009. She is survived by daughters, Dr. Barbara Bohon of Kansas City, MO, Beth Dixon and husband Gary of Leawood, KS, daughter-in-law Karma Bohon of Westminster, CO, sister Virginia Larson of Irvine, CA, sister-in-law Rosemary Alsbury of Mason City, IA, grandchildren Eli Dixon and wife Jada of Lee's Summit, MO and Kate Dixon of Prairie Village, KS, great-grandchildren Aiden Hachenberg and Stella Dixon, and many other family members and friends.
Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection on 9100 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS, 66206. Interment will be at Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2014.
