Rebecca Anne Wright, age 22, of Overland Park, KS passed away peacefully on November 26th with family and friends by her side. Her courage in the face of incredible obstacles and her strength in the face of difficult life circumstances inspired and touched us all. She possessed a wisdom beyond her years, a loving spirit that filled our hearts, and a positive attitude that shined like the brightest star for all those who admired and loved her.
A life-long dancer, Rebecca performed beautifully on many stages. Her passion was evident in the delighted faces of her pupils and the thunderous applause from her audiences. She was a blessing from heaven and is dancing with the angels now.
She is preceded by her maternal grandmother Mary J. Faherty, her paternal grandfather Neal E. Wright, and cousin Nicholas Wright. She is survived by her mother Patricia A. Wright, brothers Christopher and Matthew, her father Chris Wright, Sr., stepmother Melinda Wright, stepbrothers Robyn and Andrew Weitknecht, and beloved grandparents Bert and Gwen Faherty and Corena Wright, additionally many cherished relatives including a dear Great Aunt(Sue), numerous special Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. A true friend always, she is survived by many loyal and loving friends, and her precious dog Lily.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, December 2nd from 6:30-8:30pm at D.W. Newcomer's Sons, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66210. A Celebration Mass will be held at 10am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 8311 W 93rd in Overland Park, KS. For those attending, festive and colorful attire is appreciated.
