Rick was born June 13, 1949, in Bethany, MO. He served 4 years in the Air Force as an engine mechanic, was a Vietnam Veteran and a life member of VFW Post 8100 in Grandview, MO. He retired from General Motors in 2004 after 25 years as an assembler.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and son who deeply loved his family. He had a passion for antique cars, his 34 Chevy, his garden and his home.
He was preceded in death by his father Junior Ashford formerly of Bethany, MO, and son Chris Bard. He is survived by his wife Susan, mother Jenny Embree, stepfather Jeff, son Brian Ashford and partner Rachel, son Shawn Wilson and wife Bonnie, daughter Jennifer Bard, daughter Gina McKenzie and partner Tom, grandchildren Patyn, Dalton, Jade, Brandie, Essence, D'Quayvius, Nicolaus, Jalen, Damien and Jasmine.
We were so blessed to have him in our lives and will deeply miss him.
