Richard S. (Dick) Stinnett, 84, was born June 11, 1923 in Joplin, Missouri. He lost his battle with cancer June 25, 2007.
Dick was in an orphanage during the depression, this experience shaped his life and made him committed to family. He was a loving husband and father. He devoted many weekends to Boy Scouts and fundraisers. His children cherish the memories of family vacations. He adored his grandchildren and always had candy and gum for them with instructions not to tell their parents.
He was a World War II Veteran, after the war he was in the automotive business selling automobiles for over 55 years.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan; son, Brett (Jennipher) and their children Grace and Amanda; son, Cort (Meg) and their children Nicole and Ryan; and son, Duke.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice, 10100 W. 87th, Overland Park, KS 66212. The family is very grateful to KC Hospice for their wonderful care.
Funeral services will be 3PM Friday, June 29, 2007 at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas with Mr. Bob Smith presiding. Visitation will be an hour prior at the chapel. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
