Richard E. Parrett

Richard Elton Parrett 89, formally Shawnee, KS passed away peacefully May 15, 2023 in Fort Worth, TX.  Richard was born January 7, 1934 in Buckner, MO to parents Delfa and Clifford Parrett.  Richard married Nancy Louise Parrett June 27, 1953, they were married for 67 years before her passing in 2020.  After retirement from Graves Truck Line, Richard and Nancy spent time traveling the states and making dear friends along the way. Richard will be remembered by his generous smile, strong political views, love for fixing cars and watching westerns.  Richard is survived by sons Richard Lee Parrett (Butler, MO), David Allen (Tammy) Parrett (Fort Worth, TX),  Seven grandkids, Andy (Merry) Parrett, Richard (Gala) Parrett, David (Heather) Parrett, Amy (Eric) Smith, Daniel (Theresa) Parrett, Stacy Parrett, Shelly (Alexis) Parrett. Five great-grandkids Jacob Loeffler, Grace Parrett, Cruz Parrett, Layne Parrett, and Emilee Parrett.  Richard is preceded in death by his wife Nancy Parrett, parents Clifford and Delfa Parrett, brothers Ted V. Parrett and Jay Parrett. Graveside service will be June 24th at 11am at Johnson County Funeral Chapel & Memorial Gardens in Overland Park, KS.
