Richard F. Zuber, Jr., 83, of McKinney, Texas passed away December 4, 2021. He was born the eldest of six sons to R.F. Zuber, Sr., and Kathleen (Herring) Zuber on July 31, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri. Richard graduated Northeast High School in 1956 and attended Graceland College. He was preceded in death by his parents and four younger brothers, Walter, Robert, Gary, and Zane Zuber. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Darlene, sons Chris (Kathy) Zuber, Lenexa, Kansas, Craig (Joy) Zuber, Clive, Iowa, daughter Melissa (Scott) Durham, McKinney, Texas. He also leaves his beloved six granddaughters, Holly Cooper, Sarah Rien, Kelsey Nelson, Rylie Durham, Blakely Durham, and Abigail Kelly, and seven precious great grandchildren, Jaylee and Asher Cooper, Corbin, Caspian and Violet Kelly, Theodore Nelson and Freya Rien. He leaves his brother, Ronald (Kathy) Zuber, Independence, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
Our family mourns the loss of our loving and giving leader. We cherish our memories of him and know that the abundant love he showed us all will sustain us the rest of our lives. He always said, “I’m the luckiest man in the world.” As his family, we know we are truly the lucky ones.
Service Details:
Visitation will be Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 11:00 am-12:00 pm with a memorial service from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm at Johnson County Funeral Chapel 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, Kansas 66210. Committal service and internment immediately following at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens 23215 W. 75th Street, Shawnee, Kansas 66227.
