Robert N. Adams, 87, Overland Park, Kansas went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 5, 2015 at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church, 9300 Nall Ave. in Overland Park. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to be made in his name to Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church.
Bob was born July 7, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Kansas City Southeast High School. Bob loved his country and served in the Navy during World War II. He later received a BA in Chemistry from Kansas City University (now UMKC), and an MBA from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Bob worked at Bendix (Allied Signal) for over 40 years. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Mary for 62 years.
Bob knew no strangers and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was active in church, Boy Scouts, golf and bowling leagues, financial investment clubs, and the American Chemical Society. He enjoyed playing the clarinet and listening to jazz.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Blanche Adams and two sisters, Virginia Kloepful and Roberta Cannaday, and their husbands.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Jane (Greg) Vandegrift and Douglas (Afrah) Adams; five grandsons, and a granddaughter.
