Robert Lee Callahan, 84, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Friday, November 6, 2009. Robert was born on June 6, 1925 to Leo and Francis Callahan in Kansas City, Kansas. He went to Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a veteran Marine of WWII and the Korean War. Robert retired from the Board of Public Utilities in Kansas City, Kansas in 1987.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary Grey Callahan. He is survived by son Kevin G. Callahan of Gardner, Kansas, daughter Kathy Cornelius and husband Mark, of Kansas City, Kansas, granddaughter Stacey and husband Matthew Golladay and great grandson Christian Golladay of Louisburg, Kansas, son Robert E. Callahan of Olathe, Kansas, grandchildren Bailey, Logan, and Dylan Callahan. He is also survived by a brother Donny Callahan and sisters Beverly Andrews and Patsy Wright.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 14th from 10-11 a.m. at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel. Funeral services will start at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services to follow.
