Robert Merle Davies, 80, Olathe, Kansas, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the VA Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas.
Robert was born August 5, 1927 in Kansas City, Kansas to Earl & Marie (Peterson) Davies and served his country proudly during WWII in the US Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roger Davies (his twin) and Donald Davies; a sister, Virginia Broom; a granddaughter, Julia Marie Roberts; and his former wife, Shirley Kobusch. Survivors include his wife, Joan Davies of Topeka, Kansas; his daughter, Joanne Roberts, her husband Mark and their children: Spencer, Lauren, Natalie, and Grace of Olathe, Kansas; his son, Kevin Davies of Overland Park, Kansas; and many friends and neighbors at Good Samaritan Towers in Olathe
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12th at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, 139th & Blackbob, Olathe, Kansas. A gathering of family and friends will be held 6:30 ? 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11th at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Robert?s name be made to Community Living Opportunities, P.O. Box 14395, Lenexa, Kansas 66285-4395.
