Robert Gage Elton, 48, of Leawood, Kansas, died peacefully in his sleep at home on Friday, December 17, 2021. Rob was born on November 14, 1973, in Falls Church, Virginia, and spent most of his life in his beloved Kansas. He is survived by his father Alan, mother Martha, sister Caroline, brother William, his sons Gage and Hogan, his nephews Jack, Jackson, Oliver, and Andrew, and his niece Gaby.
Rob lived a full life. With his charismatic personality, gregarious wit, and boyish good looks, he made friends easily, traveled the world, and generated experiences that few could match in two lifetimes. He loved his friends, KU sports, his many travels to Europe, his boys, and his family. He was a proud member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Rob loved the game of golf and his heroes Tom Watson and Arnold Palmer. He was a connoisseur of classic rock and lionized its icons such as John Lennon and Jim Morrison. His high school friends known as the "Fab Four" got into too many adventures (and fondly remembered misadventures) to list. Rob never met a dog he did not love and who did not love him back, especially Murray his rescue. He had a charmed and beautiful life, and was determined not to let diabetes slow him down. Throughout his lifetime, Rob touched the lives of many, and will not be forgotten.
To celebrate Rob's life, a "Rob Elton Party" will be held at Hallbrook Country Club on Thursday, December 23rd from 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Wayside Waifs in Rob's memory.
