Robert Epperson, 92, Overland Park, Kansas passed away May 26, 2015. He was born to Albert and Mamie (Sutton) Epperson on December 8, 1922 in Durango, Colorado. Robert graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1940 and then went on to graduate from Kansas City University, now known as UMKC.
Robert served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and then married Elsie Jennings in October, 1945. He retired from Employers Reinsurance Corporation in 1989.
Robert is survived by his wife Elsie; two daughters, Carol (David) Toepfer and Sue Epperson (Fred Nielsen); two granddaughters, Mandy (David) Tallmadge and Emily Epperson; two sisters, Dorothy Casteel and Helen Hursh; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Robert will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Parkinson’s Foundation of the Heartland, 8900 State Line Rd. #320, Leawood, Kansas 66206.
