Bob Garrett, age 55, Overland Park, KS, passed away Friday, April 17, 2009 at his home after a long battle with cancer. A celebration of Bob’s life will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22 at D. W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue. A gathering of family and friends will be held 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel preceding the service. Bob was born February 9, 1954 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Shawnee Mission East and attended Pittsburg State University. Bob enjoyed sports and spending time with his kids and his friends. He worked for Garrett Heating & Air for many years.
Bob is survived by his parents, James and Mary Garrett; 2 sisters, Pat Sorensen and Donna Garrett; brother, James Garrett; 5 children, Lindsay Garrett, Brandon Garrett, Kirsten Garrett, Jason Yates, and Mallory Lyons; 4 grandchildren.
