Robert F. Herrera, 74, Kansas City, Missouri passed away Thursday, September 20, 2007.
Robert was in the Korean War, enlisted on April 30, 1952. He worked for several engineering companies throughout Kansas City. He had his first heart attack in 1980, after rehabilitation he went to work for Laventhol & Horwath in the Minority Business Development area, but in 1986 he had to leave because of his heart condition.
He was also an artist, his paintings were sold throughout Kansas City. His work was unique he did pointelism or ink dotting.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Manual Herrera, one sister, Ernestina Palos; Jesse Orozco and Carolina Orozco. Survivors include his wife of 45 years Carmen Herrera; sons, Robert Herrera, Kenneth Herrera and wife Paulette; his loving grandchildren,
Alexander, Zachary, Jessica, and Lauren Herrera. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Rachel Gorman, Louis Herrera, Albert Herrera, Richard Herrera, Jesus Herrera, Olivia Herrera, Beatriz Rodriguez, Alfred Herrera, and Rita Khan.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 24 at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 4-6 P.M. with a rosary being said at 5 P.M at the chapel.
