Robert B. Hines, 88, of Overland Park, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.  Robert was born in Kansas City, Kansas on January 24, 1932 to his parents, the late Farris Levi Hines and Mary Alma Belt Hines who preceded him in death along with his sister Ann Way.  He was a graduate of Rosedale High School class of 1951 where he was a member of the football, track and field, basketball teams, and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America.  He served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Luke Air Force Base, in Arizona.  Robert married Christine C. Wilson in December of 1953 and they had 3 daughters.  He remarried Dorcas P. Kracht in February of 1973 who preceded him in death.  He enjoyed a career with Bendix.  In addition to his career at Bendix, he was the owner of a drapery installation business.  Robert had a passion for golf, bowling and boating.  After retirement he continued to play golf and bowl in a league.  He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports and did his best to attend all of their sporting events.  Robert is survived by his daughters, Sue (Dennis) Hubler; Kristy (Jerry) Verstraete; Janet Hines, and a stepdaughter Kathy (Don) Meinert and stepson Rob Kracht.  Additionally, he is survived by 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, 1 nephew, and 2 nieces.  A private graveside is being held followed by a celebration of life service to be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Elara Caring Hospice, 901 NE River Rd, Topeka, Kansas 66616.
