Robert B. Hobbs, 78 of Leawood, KS, died peacefully on Wed, Oct. 31, 2012, at home. A memorial service will be held on Sat. Nov. 3, 2012, at 1PM at Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, KS. A short reception will be held immediately following the service at the church.
Robert was born on May 4, 1934 in Topeka, KS to Kenneth B. Hobbs and Ida Burkholder. He was a graduate of Topeka High School and received his bachelor's degree in business from the University of Kansas. He was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
On Aug 23, 1960, Robert married Nancy Harbes in Topeka, KS. They both lived in Johnson County for 52 years.
Upon graduation Robert served as an officer in the United States Naval Reserve. He was a respected investment professional in the Kansas City area; most recently he retired from Financial Counselors Inc. of Overland Park, KS.
Robert was proceeded in death by his parents; Kenneth and Ida Hobbs, and his brother; James. He is survived by his wife; Nancy H. Hobbs, daughter Jody Gustafson of Overland Park, KS, and son John (Michele) Hobbs of Bainbridge Island, WA; sister Alice (James) Boyce of Houghton, MI and six grandchildren; Kristen, James and Caroline Gustafson; Robert, William and Benjamin Hobbs; sister-in-law; Peggy Hobbs of Bethlehem, PA and many nieces and nephews.
