Mr. Robert Large
June 24, 1933 — June 22, 2013
Robert R. "Bob" Large, 79, of Overland Park, KS passed away on June 22, 2013. In Bob's early years he was active in many sports, basketball, softball, bowling etc., and in his later years he became a spectator. Most of all, he was a lifelong Chiefs fan. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He and his late wife, JoAnn, hosted many parties over the years for friends and family. He loved having pets and was an avid dog lover.
Bob had many great friends and acquaintances through work at Major Brand and the Overland Park Police Department. He belonged to Vantasia Vans and traveled to many truck-ins with JoAnn and "Jaws". He loved hanging out at Coaches and Touche.
Bob is preceded in death by his loving wife, JoAnn and his brother, Mike Large.
He is survived by three children, Nancy (Dave) Knight, Larry (Carrie) Wayne, Jerry (Karen) Wayne; sisters, Susan (Dick) Hudson, Marilyn (Bill) Swenson; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Bob will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 11300 W. 103rd St Overland Park, Kansas 66214 at 10AM with a Memorial Service following at 11AM on Thursday June 27, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to ASPCA 424 E. 92 ST. NEW YORK, NY 10128
