Robert (Bob) L. Lott, 80, of Overland Park, KS passed away May 27, 2013 at Menorah Medical Center. Funeral Services will be on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 10 am, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Funeral Chapel with a graveside service immediately following. Friends may call from 9-10 am on May 31 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Funeral Chapel.
Bob was born on July 21, 1932 in St. Louis, MO. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After the war, he attended Southeast Missouri State College. He worked in the candy business and owned his own candy brokerage company with his business partner, Smokey Ensley, for over 40 years. He will always be remembered by all who knew him as the "candy man."
His passion was sports and was a long-time season ticket holder to the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. He was also a Missouri Tigers fan.
He was preceded in his death by his parents, Oliver and Mary Lott, and a nephew, Chris Lott, all of St. Louis. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Lott, of Overland Park, and his 3 children: Bob and Lori Lott, of Olathe; Jeff Lott, of Overland Park; and Julie and Scott Johnson, of Lenexa. He is survived by his sister, Diana Lott, of St. Louis. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren who adored him dearly: Tyler Lott, Kayleigh Johnson, Brendan Johnson, Sydney Johnson, Jessica Lott, Max Johnson. He also leaves behind a brother-in-law, John R. Baltis, of San Francisco, CA, 2 sister-in-laws, June Power, of Atlanta, GA, and Jacqueline Natsch, of Jefferson City, MO, nieces and nephews, and many friends. All will miss him dearly.
