Robert Martin, age 26, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. He was born on April 30, 1986 in Overland Park, KS the son of Donna (Hoops) Martin and Craig Martin. Robert will always be remembered for being a loving brother and son, a loyal friend and a compassionate person. He stood up for the less privileged and was always supportive of the underdog. He had a strong love for animals, especially his dog, Gracie Lou.
Survivors include his father, Craig Martin of Overland Park; mother, Donna Martin of Overland Park; brother, Ryan (Kady) Martin of Overland Park; paternal grandparents, John and Barbara Martin of Overland Park; aunts, Laurie (Lloyd) Andreas of Surprise, AZ and Georgianne (John) Walker of Shawnee; uncles, John "Duke" Martin of Austin, TX, Mike (Kathie) Hoops of Gardner and Brian (Donna) Hoops of Raytown, MO and numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, the late Robert W. Hoops and Georgia "Gigi" and Earl Gray.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, August 24, 2012 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillcrest Covenant Church Crossroads Program, 8801 Nall, Prairie Village, KS 66207.
