Robert Scott Ondrejka (Bob), age 67, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on Friday February 16, 2024.
Bob was born to Armin & Marge Ondrejka on May 7, 1956, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Bob met his high school sweetheart, Patti, while attending high school in Whitefish Bay. He would go on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Bob married Patti on September 15, 1979, and were blessed with nearly 45 years of marriage. Bob & Patti would then go on to have 2 children, Brian & Kristin. In 2000, Bob moved his family from Milwaukee to Overland Park, KS having accepted a new job to give his family the best possible life they could ask for. He worked in the insurance industry for many years, then moved on to a mortgage broker. In his last 15 years as a working man, started a job with the Internal Revenue Service in downtown Kansas City. He then happily retired in February of 2020.
Bob was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, and teacher. A lover of all things outdoors, when Bob wasn't on his boat fishing or enjoying the lake with his family, he could be found riding his Harley with his wife, and group of biker buddies. Bob was everyone’s favorite Green Bay Packers fan, loved a good fish fry, and an ice cold beer.
On April 2, 2019, Bob & Patti were blessed with the birth of their first grandchild, Theo, the apple of his eye. Bob held many titles in his life, but his favorite roles were being a dad, and “Papa” to Theo. He loved nothing more than spending time surrounded by his family, including his three step-grandchildren, Miles, Nora, and Simon. Bob was always so incredibly proud of Brian & Kristin’s accomplishments throughout their lives, and he always made sure they knew that.
Bob is survived by his wife and best friend, Patti, son Brian (Dani) Ondrejka, daughter Kristin (Brad) Rice, grandson Theo, other relatives, and many friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Marge & Armin.
