Robert “Bob” Edward St. Denis, 87, of Leawood, KS, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2016.

Bob was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Charles and Mabelle St. Denis on January 26, 1929.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Walter, and two sisters, Betty and Ruth.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra (Frey) St. Denis: three sons, Brian (Janice), Gregory (Amy), Steven (Laura), and one daughter, Shannon Maize (Mark).

He is survived by nine grandchildren: Zachary, Danielle, Mallory, Johnathan, Conner, Sydney, Victoria, Ashley, and Leslie. He also leaves his sister, Jane Grable, 96, and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and attended Washington University. He started his career with Hewitt Robins in conveyor sales in St. Louis. He then moved to Kansas City and used his entrepreneurial spirit to open 3 businesses related to the development of conveyor systems: Factory Supply, Control and Drive, and St. Denis Company. He then served at Peerless Conveyor Systems as President for over 19 years. This ultimately led to the creation of Liberty Systems where he worked until he sold the business and retired to spend more time with the love of his life.

During his lifetime he was an active member, elder, and deacon at Second Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. He was a passionate volunteer, donating his time to many charities through the Executive Service Corp.

Bob was an avid boater, tennis player, golfer, and traveler.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30AM Saturday, March 5, at Second Presbyterian Church, 318 E. 55th Street, Kansas City, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church or Dismas House of Kansas City, 3100 Main #301, Kansas City, MO 64111.
