Robert Weiss passed away on March 3, 2011 at Delmar Gardens of Overland Park. Bob was born on November 12, 1917 in Chicago to Herman and Lillian Weiss. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Herman and Harry. Bob is survived by his wife, Dot, of 69 years; son, Dr. Douglas Weiss, of Minneapolis, son, Richard and his wife Chris; grandson, Jason, and granddaughter, Brooke, all of Overland Park. Memorial service will be held at Heritage United Methodist Church, 12850 Quivira Rd, on March 18, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Private inurnment will be held at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel. Bob served in the Army Air Corp from July 1942 to October 13, 1944. Returning to civilian life he pursued a career in sales representing Bon Ami Co and Welch's Grape Juice Co. He later turned to selling Institutional Foods in multiple states, retiring in 1986. Bob served on Countryside, KS city council, Board of Directors at Stratford Place, and Board of Trustees at Heritage United Methodist Church. Bob will be remembered for his fun and loving ways and his devotion to duty.
