Robert Winney, Sr.

Robert (Bob) Winney, Sr., Mission, KS, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 25th, 2008.

He was a beloved father, grandfather, husband and friend. Bob died as a result of injuries sustained from a fall. Bob was born in Rochester, New York on May 15, 1927. Many people in the Kansas City metro area knew Bob as The Piano Man. He was the founder of The Piano Man Music Center in Mission, KS from the early 70?s until 2005. Bob also tuned pianos all over the metro area during that time period. Bob was a quiet, gentle man who was a blessing to everyone he met.

Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Karen Winney of Olathe, KS; five children, Bob, Jr. and wife, Karen of Overland Park, KS, David and wife, Yana of Olathe, KS, Kevin and wife, Teresa of Haltom City, TX, Tina Bruner and husband, Jodey of Venice, FL, Alice Ferrante and husband, Stephen of Kansas City, MO; 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and two on the way.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 29 from 6-8 P.M. at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66212. Graveside will be Tuesday, September 30 at 1:00 P.M. at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Piano Technicians Guild Foundation, 4444 Forest Ave, KC KS 66106.
