Robert “Bob” White of Lenexa, died May 3, 2018, at the age of 73. He was born in Denver, Colorado, September 30, 1944, the son of Arthur O. White and Helen Jenner.
Upon graduating from Emporia High School, he went into the U.S. Navy. He was an electronic technician, serving in the 1960’s. He was on two astronaut recoveries, back when they splashed down at sea. After serving four years, he returned to Emporia, studied and received his Bachelor of Science in Business from Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia. He taught for a year at Wyandotte County Junior College, he then went on to computer program at Butler Mfg. for 27 years. He then was a scheduler for two different cabinet companies. Bob help with coaching baseball, soccer and was active with The Boy Scouts of America. He was active in church in several areas.
He leaves behind his wife, Lonna of 45 years, a son, Brian (Trisha), grandsons Brayden and Noah, sister-in-law, Pam Puppe (Jerry), sister-in-law, Barbara Palmer and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen, father, Arthur, sisters, Lora and Elaine, brother, Art, and brother-in-law, Terry Palmer.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in his name to Christ Lutheran Master’s Plan, Ascend Hospice, 4550 W. 109th St. Suite 210, or a charity of their choice.
