Robyn Kay Summers, 42, of Belton, Missouri passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at her home. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00pm and service from 2:00-3:00pm on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Johnson County Funeral Chapel & Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66210.
Robyn was born June 14, 1974 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Greg Lower and Kay Lower Goldstein. She grew up in St. Joseph, Missouri and graduated from Central High School in 1992. She attended classes and the University of Kansas. She married James Baldauf, in August, 1999 and was married for 6 years. To this union were born two children, Casey Baldauf (16) and Cody Baldauf (13). On August 25, 2012, she married Jim Summers. They had a son William Harris Summers (4) in February of 2013.
Robin was a cheerleader at Central High School and competed in gymnastics, grade school through high school. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, photography, love of the outdoors and animals. She loved reading, writing her every thought, cooking large family meals and relaxing with her favorite television channel, Discovery ID. Mostly she would dedicate her days to everyone else making sure her family & children were being supported/cheered on in all their many activities and sports. Robyn enjoyed watching Casey in competitive cheerleading and Cody play baseball. She got a kick out of her youngest son, Harris, playing with his hot wheels, which he loves. Robyn also loved playing board games with her children. Her family had many nicknames for her, she was known as “Earl the Pearl,” “ Ro-byne,” and “Bobbin Robyn.” She will be in our hearts forever and always.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Molly I. Hills and Donald E. Hills, and paternal grandfather, Robert Lower.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Summers, her children: Casey E. Baldauf, Cody J. Baldauf, William “Harris” Summers and step-son, Tre Summers; her mother and stepfather: Kay and Steve Goldstein; father, Greg Lower and Eileen McAsey; sister Tracy Fender; Mother-in-law, Beverly Summers; niece, Tori Fender; step-siblings Michelle Slaggie, Jeff Goldstein, Stuart Goldstein, Nicole Napolitano; paternal grandmother, Marge Hogue, many aunts, uncles and cousins and her dog, Lucy.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Summers/Baldauf Children’s Fund C/O Enterprise Bank and Trust, 11970 S. Blackbob Road, Olathe, KS 66062
Robyn will be remembered for her beautiful smile, fun loving attitude, compassion and warm loving heart and will be missed by her family and many friends.
