Roger Leland

Roger S. Leland, age 78, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. He was born on November 12, 1933 in Bricelyn, MN, the son of Genevieve (Henderson) and Irving Leland. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and achieved his Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Rice University. He enjoyed a long and successful career, with the majority of that time in Kansas City. He enjoyed many activities such as tennis, sailing, boating and time with family.

Survivors include his wife, Kay, of the home; sons, Chris Leland, Huntsville, AL, Dan (Susan) Leland, Dallas, TX, John (Michelle) Leland, Dubuque, IA, Tracy (Anita) Huston, Grandview, MO; daughter, Holly (Jay) Krueger of Alexandria, VA; four grandchildren, Evan, Dylan, Daniel and Kristen and loving family.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 25, 2012 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial contributions be made to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art 4525 Oak Street Kansas City, MO 64111.
