Rosmarie von Ruemker left her earth suit on October 8, 2009, and went to her Lord. A memorial service praising God for his gift of life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mission, Kansas (corner of Shawnee Mission Parkway and Nall Avenue) at 11 a.m. Monday, April 26. Memorial gifts may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Rosmarie was born on July 30, 1926, and grew up in Germany. She received M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in agricultural sciences from the University of Bonn in 1950. She moved to the U.S. in 1954, and to the Kansas City area in 1958. She was a naturalized U.S. citizen. Until she retired in 1990, she was managing partner of RvR Consultants, a research consulting firm she founded in 1971, and director of research (1954-1958) and vice president, research and development (1958-1971) of Chemagro Corporation (now Bayer Agricultural Division), Kansas City, Mo. She was a member of several professional societies and served on various National and State Scientific advisory committees. She was an active member on both campuses of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mission and Shawnee, Kansas. She worked at encouraging her Lutheran friends to celebrate their relationships with Jesus and their understanding of the Holy Spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Margret von Ruemker; one sister, Sibylle von Ruemker; one brother and his wife, Just-Hinrich and Anna-Dorothea von Ruemker; one sister-in-law, Arnold’s first wife, Almuth von Ruemker, and her very close friend and business partner, Freda Horay. She is survived by her sister and husband, Christin and Hans-Friedrich Willberg; her brother and his wife, Arnold and Brigitte von Ruemker; five nieces; five nephews; Freda’s son Patrick Horay, and many good friends.
