Roy Earl Noe, 82, of Overland Park KS, died Sunday, Feb 4, 2018. Roy was born in Germantown TN in 1935 to Herbert and Jessie Noe (Fisackerly). Roy proudly served in the US Air Force for 30 yrs, 1957-1977. He then retired with thirteen years of civil service for the Veterans Administration in 1990.
Roy was a devoted family man and friend who enjoyed gardening and was known for his beautiful roses. He raised his own ducks and enjoyed watching them thrive at the lake near his home. He also enjoyed working on the family tree; tracing his roots back to the 1600s. He was blessed to have recently spent time with his dearest friend Jimmy J. Williams, his daughter Sandra Armstrong and her husband.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Noe; one sister, Mildred Joyce Howe; four daughters: Teresa Rivers, Brenda Hughes, Cindy Noe, Sharon Noe and husband Tom Shewmon; five grandsons; Chris Rivers, Brett McCauley, Jonathan Shewmon, Alex Shewmon, and Lawson Hughes; two granddaughters: Samantha Savat and Shannon Savat; four great-grandchildren, 6 nephews and 6 nieces. Roy was proceeded in death by 3 sisters: Frances Louise Hawkins, Dorothy Mae Shrader, Doris Faye Jenkins and 2 brothers: Raymond Noe and Rayford Noe. Visitation will be at 9:30 am Thursday Feb 8, 2018 at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel in Overland Park KS. Services will follow at 10:30 and then a full military honors burial service at Leavenworth National Cemetery at 12:30.
