RUDOLPH W. GIESSENBIER
Rudolph W. “Rudy” Giessenbier, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away September 18, 2010. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 24th from 10 – 11:00 am at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. Funeral services will start at 11:00. Burial will follow at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.

Rudy owned and operated Jewelry Arts at Corinth Square in Prairie Village, Kansas. He retired and sold the business when he was 77 years old. He was a certified gemologist and a member of the American Gem Society. He always said he was lucky to have his hobby for his job. Rudy also enjoyed fishing at his farm and being active in his church. He was a Veteran of WW II, serving in the Navy for 3 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lorene, of 63 years, two daughters, Janice VanLaningham and Rudene Niedenthal and husband Galen; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
