Rudolph W. Staehle, 83, of Shawnee passed away on Saturday, May 10th.
Rudy was born in Hackensack, NJ on May 31, 1924. He was a World War II veteran who served as an ensign in the United States Navy. Rudy then attended Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. His professional career brought him to the Kansas City area in 1951 working with the Worthington Corporation. In 1970 Rudy founded Thermal Components Company, a commercial air conditioning and heating company, and served as president until his retirement in 1987. Rudy enjoyed spending weekends on and at the Lake of the Ozarks with his family and friends throughout his life in the Mid West. In retirement, Rudy enjoyed spending time on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
Rudy is survived by his wife, Wilma Brown Staehle; his four children; Ken Staehle and his wife Laura of Prairie Village, KS, Steve Staehle and his wife Marcia of Kansas City, MO, Dr. Bradley Staehle and his wife Tracey of Simsbury, CT, and his daughter Pamela Raza and her husband Saleem, and their two children Ayden and Ava of Wichita, KS.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 14th at 10:00 a.m. at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, PO Box 8462, Chicago, IL 60680 or a charity of the donor?s choice.
