Mrs. Moffatt was born January 15, 1922 in Benton, Illinois, the youngest of six children born to William C. and Goldie Stewart. She was married to I.R. (Ray) Moffatt who preceded her into heaven in 1996. Ruth Ann graduated from Benton High School where she was an avid dancer, winning the school?s jitterbug contest her senior year. She worked for the federal government in Kansas City, Missouri and met the love of her life, Ray Moffatt, during World War II. They were married March 15, 1945 in Benton, Illinois. She and her husband lived all over the country following Ray?s 35 year career with AT&T. They had a son, Greg, in 1953. Again, following her husband?s career, they lived in Iran and traveled the world together. She and Ray have resided in Overland Park, Kansas for the last 42 years.

Despite many physical limitations, Ruth Ann was a hard working, positive thinking, energetic lady. Her devotion to her husband, son, and two grandsons Christopher and Hunter, was the hallmark of her life. She loved sports, yard work, traveling, and following her son and grandson?s athletic careers. She was loving when needed and tough minded when necessary. Her ailments never interfered in living a full life. She was blessed with many friends from around the world, and in later years her dear friends and neighbors in Overland Park were cherished by her and her family. Her never-quit attitude is an inspiration to her son, grandsons, and all who knew her. Her family was blessed to have her as a wife, mother, and grandmother. No finer woman exists in our eyes. She is with her beloved Ray now in heaven, looking down on us and probably imploring me to trim the hedge in front. I love you Mom, and I hope you know how much you mean to me. You and Dad will always be with me.

Survivors include her son Greg, Overland Park, Kansas; grandsons, Christopher and Hunter Moffatt, both of Overland Park, Kansas; one sister, Denzell Humphrey of West Frankfort, Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews.

God bless you Mom because you blessed all of us.
