Ruth Schust

Ruth H. Schust, 92, passed away July 11, 2016.  She was born October 19, 1923 in Cedar Town, Georgia, the daughter of Reverend Finis and Bessie (Jones) Waid.  Ruth graduated from Pleasant Hill High School after which she moved to Kansas City and attended Peck Beauty School.  She married John G. Schust November 26, 1949.  Ruth worked as a beautician until she married.  She loved sewing, gardening, crocheting and antiquing.  She was preceded in death by her husband John and her brothers; Robert, James & John Waid.  Survivors include her children; Jay Schust (Mary) of Kansas City, MO, Patricia Every (David) of Indianapolis, IN, Nancy Pope (Randy) of Leawood, KS, grandchildren; Brad Every, Jeff Every, Eric Pope, Stephen Pope, Alex Pope, Kelly Pope, John Schust, great grandchildren; Jack Every, Zoey Every and Beckett Pope.   Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday at Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf.  There will be private family services on Saturday with interment at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Great Plains SPCA’s Adoption Center, 5428 Antioch Drive, Merriam, KS 66202 or to Kansas City Community Kitchen, Episcopal Community Services, 11 E. 40th St., Kansas City, MO 64111.  Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.johnsoncountychapel.com.
