Ruthanna Day, 79, Lake Ozark, Mo., departed this life on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, after her courageous battle with cancer.
A celebration of Ruthanna’s life will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kan. A gathering of Ruthanna’s family and friends will be from 2-3 p.m. prior to the services at the chapel.
Ruthanna was born on June 1, 1931, to Walter and Gertrude Noll in Atchison, Kan. She graduated from Atchison High School, married Harlan Housh, and together had a daughter, Deyanne, and a son, Darrell. After Harlan’s death in 1986, Ruthanna retired after 30 years from Bendix/Allied Signal as a senior accountant in 1989 and married Charles Day in 1990 in Hawaii. Ruthanna was preceded in death by her parents; brothers William and James Noll, and her son Darrell. Ruthanna is survived by her husband, Charles Day; daughter Deyanne Forman and her husband Rick, and four stepdaughters, Linda Lewis and her husband Ralph, Cheryl True and her daughters Megan and Emily, Judy Day and her son Max, and Meri Selvy. Ruthanna was a loving wife and mother, kindhearted friend, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Ruthanna will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will live forever in our hearts.
Hawaiian attire appropriate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
