Ryan K. Lurz, age 20, of KC, KS passed away on March 30, 2012. He was born on May 5, 1991 in Moscow, Russia, the son of Beth (Heier) and Neal Lurz. Ryan graduated from Accelerated Schools in Overland Park and from KCKCC with a technical certificate in building maintenance. He especially liked working with his hands, camping, hiking and loved all things outdoors. Ryan enjoyed the beaches of Hawaii and the mountains of Colorado. He held his extended family and friends dear to his heart.
Survivors include his parents, Neal and Beth Lurz of Leawood, KS; brother, Nathan Lurz of Chicago, IL; sister, Megan Lurz of Leawood, KS; paternal grandfather, Gilbert Lurz of Valentine, NE; maternal grandparents, Harlan and Shirley Heier of Lincoln, NE and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and church family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Lucille Lurz.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 9100 Mission Rd, Prairie Village, KS 66206. Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30 PM, Monday, April 2 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 9100 Mission Rd, Prairie Village, KS 66206 or to Hollis Renewal Center, 11414 Kansas Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66111.
